My Life Story
Hello and welcome to my homepage. This is a page that is basically about my life, as dull as that actually is. I am a flooring salesman in the city of Lansing Michigan. I did take a bit of a strange route to get there and I really never expected to become a salesman but I can honestly say that I am glad that things worked out the way that they did. I really do enjoy my job and my life.
My life story is not all that exciting but since people do tend to like to know about the people that they are dealing with I will go ahead and share it with you. I was born and raised right here in Lansing. After graduating from high school I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my life so I joined the army. The army decided to make me into a combat engineer which was a job that I held for six years. Being a combat engineer involved constructing all kinds of things like bridges and roads so that the army could keep moving.
After I got out of the army I returned home to Lansing where I found a job working for a company that build houses. It was actually a pretty interesting job as I was involved in wide variety of different parts of the job of building a house. This was a job that I did for about five years when an unfortunate accident brought an end to that. I took a fall off of the roof of a house that I was working on and screwed up my back. This made it difficult to do construction work so I needed to find a new career.
I was fortunate in that the company that we bought our flooring material from was looking for a new sales person to work at their shop. Over the years I had gotten to know the manager of the shop and he offered me a job. It has turned out to be quite a bit different than anything that I have done before. It took awhile to get the hang of sales but I have got a pretty good handle on it now.
I really think that the jobs that I had before have really helped to make me a better salesman since I do know a lot about flooring so at least I do know what I am talking about when I deal with customers. The best part about my new job is that it gave me a chance to meet my wife. She worked in the shop when I first started working there. We have now been married for six years and we have two daughters so I guess maybe that fall off of the roof turned out to be pretty lucky.
